Today after getting two annual increments of ₹980/- each I get around 49,000/- as gross salary and ₹41,000/- as net salary into my salary account.

Apart from salary I am entitled for fuel allowance of amount equivalent of 45 litres of high octane petrol. (The volume varies as per place of posting and I am in a semi-urban area)

Wherever there are bank's quarters available I can stay there or bank may provide me leased accommodation. Here in this semi-urban area I (im the scale-1) is entitled for lease rental of ₹8000/- pm.for my accommodation. In urban areas like Bhopal i am entitled for ₹15000/- and in a metro it can be as high as ₹29500/- pm. as in case of Mumbai. This much amount is only available in SBI.

I get monthly ₹550/- for newspapers/magazines.

For reference only

I am entitled for ₹1.2 lakh (in scale 1) to buy furniture and electronic devices for my house. This allowance once taken can be taken again after depreciation in value of the assets bought.

I get around ₹2000/- monthly for repairs and cleansing material and labor cost etc for maintenance of those furniture. At the end of financial year i get another ₹12000/- as lump sum for maintenance of furniture and electronics.

Bank also pay me a sum of ₹2500/- every year to buy utility items like bucket mugs etc.

I am entitled for reimbursement of my official mobile phone bills max up to ₹500+ ST. in scale 1.

I am also entitled for reimbursement of ₹600+ST for the broadband/internet installed at my place of stay.

I am entitled for 100% reimbursement of medical cost for myself and 75% for my dependents.

I have given almost all the allowances which am getting now. You may do the math.

And yes I forgot to mention about variable incentives paid for cross selling products of Bank’s sister concerns. These incentives are not paid to me in cash or in account. They get credited into a prepaid card, which you can only swipe at POS or use online, since RBI forbids banks to pay incentives in cash to its employees.
